The golden compass
THIS IS A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROMDR. BRYAN CUTSHALLYesterday, I was handed a children's book by a staff member who said, "I think you need to see this." The book is published by Scholastic and is part of a collection ofbooks. The book I was given is called The Golden Compass. Thischildren's book is one of the most alarming things I have ever read. What makes it worse is that a movie based on the book premieres in December. Both the book and the movie introduce atheism to children. The story ends with Adam and Eve killing God.THIS IS A MOVIE THAT WE MUST PROTEST AND OPPOSE AS CHRISTIANS. Please educate yourself on this by checking out the links I have provided below and help me spread the word. Do not remain silent onthis issue. This is a time for the family of GOD to stand together.Dr. Bryan Cutshall Senior Pastor, Twin Rivers Worship CenterFounder and CEO, Churchtrainer, Inc. Focus on the Family has several notices written about it. You canclick on this link to see one of them:http://www.citizenlink.org/content/A000005672.cfm You can also read more about it below.I checked this out at snopes.com; unfortunately, it's true... Therewill be a new children's movie out in December called "The Golden Compass." The movie has been described as "atheism for kids" and isbased on the first book of a trilogy entitled "His Dark Materials"written by Phillip Pullman. Pullman is a militant atheist and secular humanist who despisesC. S. Lewis and the "Chronicles of Narnia." His motivation for writing this trilogy was specifically to counteract Lewis' symbolisms ofChrist portrayed in the Narnia series. Clearly, Pullman's main objective is to bash Christianity and promoteatheism. Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview, "my books are about killing God." He has even stated that he wants "to kill God in the minds of children." It hasbeen said of Pullman that he is "the writer the atheists would be praying for, if atheists prayed."While "The Golden Compass" movie itself may seem mild and innocent, the books are a much different story. In the trilogy, a youngstreetwise girl becomes enmeshed in an epic struggle to ultimately defeat the oppressive forces of a senile God. Another character, anex-nun, describes Christianity as "a very powerful and convincing mistake." In the final book, characters representing Adam and Eveeventually kill God, who at times is called YAHWEH. Each book in thetrilogy gets progressively worse regarding Pullman's hatred of Jesus Christ."The Golden Compass" is set to premier December 7, during the Christmas season and will probably be heavily advertised. Promotershope that unsuspecting parents will take their children to see the movie, that they will enjoy the movie, and that the children will wantthe books for Christmas. Please boycott the movie and the books. Also, pass this information along to everyone you know. This will help toeducate parents, so that they will know the agenda of the movie. The Golden CompassA movie to avoidWe need to get the word out about this movie - it is coming out in December - an atheist produced it, it is marketed for children and in the end they kill God.Send this to everyone you know.http://snopes.com/politics/religion/compass.aspwww.churchtrainer.com

Puppy Love
A PUPPY has been born in Japan with a large,
clear, love-heart-shaped pattern in his coat.
The Chihuahua was born in May as one of a litter to a breeder.
Shop owner Emiko Sakurada said it was the first time a
puppy with the marks had been born out of a thousand she had bred.
She had no plans to sell the puppy, which has been named 'Heart-kun'.
The long-coated male Chihuahua puppy was born in Odate, northern Japan

MOUSE TRAP STORY
A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package.
What food might this contain? The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.
Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in thehouse!
The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr.Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me."" I cannot be bothered by it."
The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"
Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.
But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock.
To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.
The farmer's wife did not get well; she died.
So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.
The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.
So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember -- when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.
We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another
EACH OF US IS A VITAL THREAD IN ANOTHER PERSON'S TAPESTRY; OUR LIVES ARE WOVEN TOGETHER FOR A REASON.
One of the best things to hold onto in this world is a friend
The pig sympathized, but said, I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray.
"Be assured you are in my prayers."
The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!
The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."
So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone.
That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.
The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness , she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.

Cherokee Rite of Passage
Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of passage? His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove theblindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own. The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man! Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm. We, too, we are never alone. Even when we don't know it, our Heavenly Father is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.

Jesus on the Beach.
Pictures below are from a beach in Maryland Isn't the artwork awesome? Be sure to open up your screen all the way. The man creates new ones each day, as the ocean washes away his work every day. This is Chuck Ritchey, Sr. I have watched this man work on the beach at Ocean City , MD Each time I watch him I marvel at his talent and fortitude because it is true that his works get washed away with the tide and he does them again. He is certainly a witness for Jesus Christ as thousands of people, in the course of a day, view his work and watch as he crafts his treasures. May his message be viewed by many.
